So maybe it's just me...

I'm a little befuddled.

I don't understand how people can vehemently excuse the inexcusable. I mean, the things that some argue make no sense whatsoever.

I just don't know if we need to blame the education system, poor parenting, alcohol sponsored testosterone drenched pass times or what.

Clearly some of you have opted for the blue pill.

Here are some examples of what I mean.

Many of you might have taken part in the epic Battle of the Bigot right here on my blog talking about the so called "Ground Zero Mosque" (so named because apparently Islamic Cultural Center A Few Blocks From Ground Zero won't fit on a protest sign). We had one detractor who decided to weigh in on the topic but it was a rather circular argument that defied any and everything that didn't fit into this very narrow brand of "logic". She kept spewing quotes from the Quran that may or may not have been out of context. Of course she'll never know because she doesn't trust anything in the English translation of the Quran that doesn't fit her agenda... saying the English translation of the Quran is somehow meant to mislead or misinform (yet that is what she uses as the crux of her argument - interesting).

And when I countered with equally out of context Biblical quotes I got to hear how those were "cultural" and no longer in effect today.

Uh... yeah.

She invoked the name of Christ then flat out ignored any passages from the Bible that had anything to do with pacifism or peace.

It was really quite astonishing, but not QUITE as astonishing as hearing the likes of Sarah Palin encourage Dr. Laura Schlessinger not to "retreat" but to "reload" and protect her First Amendment rights (i.e. fight for the right to utter epithets on national radio). This was in the same year Palin publicly called for the head of Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel after he used the, per Palin, equally offensive word "retarded" in a private, closed door meeting. So Dr. Laura can say the word "nigger" eleven times to a black person where everyone can hear, and she gets to keep her job. A liberal says the word "retarded" just once in a closed door meeting - talking about the very same group Rush Limbaugh gleefully calls a bunch of "retards" (with Palin's blessing!) - and he needs to resign.

But if that doesn't take the cake, Fox "News" delivered the piece de resistance by getting people all riled up over the "Ground Zero Mosque" - when their own shareholder Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal (a Muslim) HELPED TO FUND THE PROJECT. By $305,000 - no doubt earned by the advertisers who pay to keep folks like race baiting Glenn Beck on the air.

No wait, it gets better.

Not only does he pay this money into the project, but Fox "News" does this whole "expose" on "Follow the Money" to prove that the Imam behind the Cordoba Initiative is a bad guy. They allude - don't prove but ALLUDE - that he might have ties to Iran or Muslim extremist groups and that's where this money is coming from... all the while IGNORING COMPLETELY that the real money trail leads right to the doors of Fox News.

But of course it comes out because of that horrible "liberal media" and no body bats an eye because they know you as a populous will buy whatever it is they dish out.

It's the equivalent of being in a relationship with Fox "News", walk in on them having sex with the next door neighbor they've encouraged you to hate, and telling you flat to your face it's not them.

And you buy it.

What the hell have you been smoking?

Seriously. Someone explain it to me because I don't get it.

Because of their hate baiting now one in five Americans now believe that the President is Muslim (which is okay for a Fox News shareholder but bad for the White House), and protest a cultural center in Manhattan where two other mosques are located because of it's so called Hallowed Ground. Never mind that in the equally hallowed ground of the Pentagon there have been interfaith prayer rooms since 2001 where Muslims were allowed to pray. We can somehow forget those pesky, tiny facts.

And now people who look like Muslims are getting verbally attacked, Muslim cab drivers are getting knifed and mosques are being targeted around the country, including those that haven't been built yet.

The best part? You all still claim it has nothing to do with religious freedom or bigotry... and that your First Amendment rights give you the right to fight against another American's First Amendment rights.

You're either the biggest bunch of idiots I've ever seen OR you're just plain evil.

You tell me.
